Madoka asks to erase every witch before she is born, in every past and future, with her own hands. Earlier wishes sought particular outcomes: survival after a crash, a healed hand, a congregation for a father, a second meeting. Madoka addresses the rule connecting magical girls to witches.
She does not merely ask that Sayaka live or that Homura win against Walpurgisnacht. She prevents the hope of every magical girl from terminating in the creature she once fought. Because Homura's loops have concentrated enormous potential in her, the wish can rewrite the universe that made the contract possible.
Its scale does not make it costless. Kyubey notes that hope sufficient to create a universe must be matched by despair sufficient to end one. Madoka takes that burden into the wish and becomes the agency that meets magical girls before corruption completes.
In the rewritten world, Madoka no longer has an ordinary biographical place. Her mother cannot remember a daughter by that name. Her younger brother still draws and names Madoka as a figure others treat like an imaginary friend; the name feels strangely familiar to their mother. Only Homura retains a complete memory she can state as history.
That nuance matters. Madoka is not simply forgotten in the same way by everyone. Fragments remain without restoring school records, photographs, birthdays, or a shared past in which she can return home. The person who altered the law has become a principle operating across time.
Her action succeeds without supplying public proof that she performed it. Homura's ribbon and memory cannot persuade anyone because the world now provides a more economical explanation: there was never such a girl.
The new universe is not a happy ending in which magical girls cease to fight. They still contract, use magic, confront wraiths produced by human curses, and disappear when their power is exhausted. Sayaka still spends herself for Kyosuke's music and passes from the world.
What Madoka abolishes is the final conversion. A girl no longer becomes the enemy of the next girl. At the moment her Soul Gem would blacken completely, Madoka receives her. The end remains an end, but it is no longer used to turn hope against itself.
Kyubey survives and adapts. The Incubators collect energy through a revised system and remain unable to understand Homura's account of witches except as an intriguing possibility. Madoka has changed a rule without converting its administrator.
That limited victory is the series' precision. One wish does not abolish grief, danger, death, or morally alien intelligence. It removes a specific structure that made each girl's despair the next girl's prey. The world remains damaged and active; one form of betrayal has ceased to be its law.

这些愿望的形状是：世界上多一件事，或者少一件事。而世界本身照旧运转。
而圆许的不是一个结果，是一条规则。
她没有说"我要救下沙耶香"。她没有说"我要让焰不用再重来"。她没有说"我要打赢瓦尔普吉斯之夜"。
她说的是：魔法少女变成魔女这件事，从此不再发生——过去的，将来的，所有宇宙的，全部。
这个愿望不解决任何一件具体的事。它换掉的是这套东西的运转方式。
丘比对这件事的代价给了一个说明，而这个说明是这部作品里最直接的一段算术。
它说的大意是：实现了一个等同于创造一个宇宙的希望，就意味着带来足以终结一个宇宙的绝望。理所当然。
也就是说：她的愿望有多大，她要背的诅咒就有多大。
而圆的处理方式是明说的。她说：你们不会诅咒任何人，不会作祟。所有的因果，由我来承担。
她把那个账全部划到自己名下了。
愿望实现之后，宇宙被重编。
而圆本人的处境，丘比给了一句说明，而这一句是这部作品的落点：
你的人生没有开始也没有结束。你的存在只是一个概念。你不再是这个宇宙的成员了。
被重编的世界里，鹿目圆不存在。
她的母亲不再记得自己有这样一个女儿。她的弟弟却仍会画出她、说出“小圆”这个名字，只是大人把这当成孩子想象中的朋友；母亲听到名字，也只觉得莫名怀念。她的房间不再是她的房间，她在这个世界上没有可共同核对的生日、照片与生活记录。
只有暁美焰保留着完整、能够作为一段历史说出的记忆。
她要的那件事成了，代价是没有一个人知道是她做的。
现在说这一篇最要紧的一段，因为这里最容易被写成一个光明的结尾。
重编之后的世界，不是没有牺牲的世界。
魔法少女还在。她们还在打——打的对象换成了魔兽，那是人世的诅咒变成的东西。
她们还是会死。她们的力量用尽之后，宝石会消失，人也跟着消失。
也就是说：签约还在，代价还在，死还在。
圆没有取消那件事。她取消的是那件事的结尾。
从前：一个女孩许愿，战斗，绝望，变成魔女，然后被下一个女孩杀掉。
现在：一个女孩许愿，战斗，力尽，然后消失——而圆会来接她。
那些女孩不再变成她们自己曾经打过的东西。
变的是这一条。
还有一件事必须写出来，因为不写这一篇就不诚实。
丘比还在。
它的生意照做。它还在跟女孩签约，还在有问必答，还在不明白。它的能量回收改了方式，而它一天也没有停。
它甚至适应得很好——新的系统对它来说只是一次参数调整。
作品在最后没有安排任何一个角色去处置它。它没有被打败，没有被赶走，没有被说服。
这套东西被改掉了一条规则，而做这套东西的那一方，什么损失也没有。
这个系列到这里结束。
最后把五个愿望放在一起，中间不加话。
巴麻美：车祸现场，快死了，她的愿望是活下来。她活了，她父母死了，她一个人打了很多年。
佐仓杏子：让人们来听父亲讲道。人来了，父亲发现是魔法，杀了全家。
美树沙耶香：治好一个男孩的手。手好了，他拉琴拉得跟从前一样好，而他不知道是谁做的。
暁美焰：重新来过那次相遇，成为保护她的人。她重来了很多次，而每一次都让那个人变得更值钱。
鹿目圆：改掉那条规则。规则改了，而她从所有人的记忆里出去了。
五个人许了五个愿望。五个愿望全部实现了，一个也没有打折。
而她们后来的日子，是这十二话的内容。
至于这算什么，作品不说。
它最后给的画面是一片荒原，一个背着弓的身影，和一条系在手腕上的红丝带——那是唯一一个还记得她的人留下来的。
而那个人手上除了这条丝带，什么证据也没有。她说的话没有人会信，因为在这个世界上，那个人从来没有存在过。
