上一篇说到，四圣试禅心证明了团队不能少任何一个人。
宝象国证明了这件事的代价。
故事
三打白骨精之后，悟空被唐僧赶走了。团队只剩唐僧，八戒，沙僧，白龙马。
走到宝象国，碰到了黄袍怪。百花羞公主被黄袍怪掳走多年，托唐僧带信给宝象国国王。唐僧去了。黄袍怪追到宝象国，把唐僧变成了一只老虎。
一只老虎。关在铁笼里。
八戒和沙僧打不过黄袍怪。团队没有悟空，扛不住。
最后白龙马变成宫女去刺杀黄袍怪，失败了，受了伤。白龙马跟八戒说：去请大师兄回来吧。
八戒去了花果山。请回了悟空。悟空回来，打跑了黄袍怪，把唐僧从老虎变回了人。
唐僧变成了老虎
唐僧被变成老虎。这个设定不是随便写的。
他还是唐僧。他的方向还在。他的不疑还在。他心里面什么都没变。
但他是一只老虎了。
他说他是唐僧。谁信？宝象国的人看见的是一只老虎。一只关在笼子里的老虎。你说你是取经的高僧？你是一只畜生。
不疑是唐僧最强的东西。前面十几篇一直在讲。他不疑方向。他不疑自己。女儿国那么大的考验他都没有动摇。
但不疑是单向的。
你可以不疑自己。你管不了别人疑不疑你。
唐僧不疑自己是唐僧。但宝象国满朝文武看见的是一只老虎。他的不疑在这里一点用都没有。不是因为他的不疑变弱了。是因为不疑碰到了它的物自体：人心。
你可以控制自己信不信。你控制不了别人信不信。
物自体是人心
这一难的物自体不是黄袍怪。黄袍怪只是手段。
物自体是人心。
所有人都认为唐僧不是唐僧。不是他们故意害他。是他们看到的就是一只老虎。人凭什么相信一只老虎是高僧？凭你自己说的？你是一只老虎，你说什么都是老虎的声音。
唐僧的不疑在这里碰到了极限。不疑是你自己的事。它是你内部的结构。但你活在世界里。世界不在你内部。世界有它自己的眼睛，自己的判断，自己的"看到什么就信什么"。
你变成了老虎。世界看到了老虎。你心里是唐僧。世界不看你心里。
这比五行山还绝望。五行山下，悟空动不了，但他还是猴子。所有人知道他是孙悟空。没有人怀疑他的身份。他被困住了，但他还是他。
唐僧在宝象国，没有被困住。他在铁笼里可以动。但他不是他了。在所有人眼里，他不是他了。
没有悟空的团队
这一难发生在悟空不在的时候。这不是巧合。
悟空为什么不在？因为三打白骨精那次，唐僧不信悟空的判断，把他赶走了。唐僧对悟空的不疑断了。
宝象国是这个断裂的直接后果。
你不信你的人了，你赶走了他。然后你自己变成了一只老虎，没有人认得出你。你最需要的那个人不在了。你需要他的眼睛——火眼金睛——来看穿你的外表，认出你还是你。
八戒打不过黄袍怪。这不是重点。重点是八戒也认不出唐僧了。沙僧也认不出。整个团队在没有悟空的情况下，失去了辨别真相的能力。不是战斗力不够。是没有人能看穿表象。
小雷音寺是唐僧看不穿假灵山。宝象国是所有人看不穿假老虎。
请悟空回来
白龙马让八戒去花果山请悟空。
八戒为什么去？是因为团队缺一个能打的吗？
不是。
是因为团队内部的不疑断了，必须重建。
唐僧赶走悟空的时候，他在说：我不信你。你说是妖怪我不信。你的判断我不接受。你走。
请悟空回来的时候，团队在说：我们需要你。不只是需要你的金箍棒。是需要你的眼睛。需要你能看穿表象认出真相的那个能力。需要你在的时候，团队才能辨别什么是真的什么是假的。
更深的一层：需要重建"我信你"。
唐僧变成老虎以后，谁能认出他还是唐僧？只有悟空。因为悟空有火眼金睛。因为悟空从来都知道师父是师父，不管他外表变成了什么。
三打白骨精的时候，悟空认出了妖怪，唐僧不信。宝象国的时候，唐僧变成了老虎，只有悟空能认出他。
两件事是镜像。你不信我能看穿真相。现在你需要我看穿真相来救你。
双向不疑
这一难教的是：不疑不能是单向的。
唐僧的不疑是他最强的东西。但他的不疑一直是朝着方向的。朝着西天。朝着取经。这是单向的不疑。
团队需要的是双向的不疑。不只是"我不疑我的方向"。还要"我不疑我的人"。
唐僧不疑方向，但他疑了悟空。三打白骨精就是他疑悟空的那一刻。结果悟空走了。结果他变成了老虎。
你可以不疑方向走十万里。但你疑了你的人，你连自己是谁都保不住。
方向是一个人的事。路是一群人的事。你一个人可以不疑方向。但一群人走路，需要互相不疑。你信我的判断。我信你的方向。你看到的我不一定看得到，但我信你看到了。我坚持的你不一定理解，但你信我的坚持有道理。
这种互相不疑不是天生的。是走出来的。是吵出来的。是裂开又合上以后才有的。
三打白骨精裂开了。宝象国是裂开的代价。悟空回来以后，合上了。合上以后的不疑比裂开之前更深。因为他们知道了裂开是什么后果。
悟空回来了
悟空回来了。打跑了黄袍怪。把唐僧从老虎变回了人。
唐僧变回来的那一刻，什么感受？
他知道了一件事：我的不疑救不了我自己。我的不疑需要我的人。我的人需要我的不疑。这是双向的。我不能只疑方向不疑人。
悟空回来的那一刻，什么感受？
他知道了一件事：被赶走的委屈是真的。被需要也是真的。师父错了。师父也受了代价。现在他回来了。不是因为师父认了错。是因为这条路走不下去了。他选择回来。不是原谅。是不疑。
两个人都知道了。三打白骨精是裂。宝象国是裂的代价。悟空回来是合。
合不是回到从前。合是带着裂痕继续走。

The Story
After Three Trials, Wukong is banished. The team: Tang Seng, Bajie, Sandy, Dragon Horse only.
They reach Kingdom of Treasured Elephants, meet Yellow-Browed Demon. Princess Hundred Flowers, stolen years ago, asks the Monk to carry a message to the king. He goes. Yellow-Browed pursues, transforms Tang Seng into a tiger.
A tiger. In an iron cage.
Bajie and Sandy can't beat Yellow-Browed. No Wukong, can't hold on.
Finally Dragon Horse, disguised as a maidservant, tries to assassinate Yellow-Browed. Fails, gets wounded. Tells Bajie: go fetch Elder Brother.
Bajie goes to Flower Fruit Mountain. Brings Wukong back. Wukong defeats Yellow-Browed, transforms the Monk from tiger back to human.
Tang Seng Becomes a Tiger
This isn't random writing.
He's still Tang Seng. His direction intact, his undoubting intact. Nothing internal changed.
But he's a tiger.
He says he's Tang Seng. Who believes it? Treasured Elephants' court sees a tiger. A tiger in a cage. You claim to be a scripture-seeking sage? You're a beast.
Undoubting is Tang Seng's greatest power. Essays have shown it. He undoubts direction. Himself. Kingdom's huge test didn't shake him.
But undoubting is one-way.
You control your belief. You don't control others'.
Tang Seng undoubts himself as Tang Seng. Treasured Elephants' court sees a tiger. His undoubting is useless here. Not weakened—it hit its noumenon: human hearts.
You control whether you believe. You can't control whether others do.
The Noumenon Is Human Hearts
This trial's noumenon isn't Yellow-Browed. He's just the means.
It's human hearts.
Everyone believes Tang Seng isn't Tang Seng. Not from malice. They see what they see: a tiger. Why would anyone believe a tiger is a sage? Because you say so? You're a tiger; everything you say is tiger-sound.
Tang Seng hits his undoubting's limit. Undoubting is internal. But you live in the world. The world isn't internal. It has its own eyes, judgment, "sees something, believes something."
You became a tiger. The world sees tiger. You're Monk inside. The world doesn't look inside.
Worse than Five-Elements Mountain. There, Wukong couldn't move but was still monkey. Everyone knew Sun Wukong. Identity unquestioned. Trapped but still himself.
Here Tang Seng isn't trapped. In the cage he can move. But he's not himself. In everyone's eyes, he isn't.
Team Without Wukong
This trial happens when he's gone. Not coincidence.
Why isn't he there? Three Trials—Tang Seng didn't believe Wukong, banished him. His undoubting of Wukong broke.
This is its direct consequence.
You stopped trusting your person, sent him away. Then you became a tiger no one recognizes. You need him most. Need his eyes—golden vision—to see through appearance, recognize you're still you.
Bajie can't beat Yellow-Browed. That's not the point. Bajie can't recognize the Monk either. Neither can Sandy. Without Wukong, the team lost its ability to discern truth. Not strength—nobody can see through appearance.
False Temple: Tang Seng couldn't see through fake Spirit Mountain. This: nobody sees through fake tiger.
Requesting Wukong's Return
Dragon Horse tells Bajie: fetch Elder Brother.
Why? Need someone strong to fight?
No.
The team's internal undoubting broke. Must rebuild it.
When Tang Seng banished Wukong, he was saying: I don't believe you. You say demon—I don't believe. Your judgment I reject. Leave.
Requesting his return: We need you. Not just your cudgel. Your eyes. Your ability to see through appearance, know truth. When you're here, we can distinguish real from false.
Deeper: need to rebuild "I believe you."
After becoming a tiger, who recognizes Tang Seng? Only Wukong. Golden vision. He always knows Master is Master, whatever his form.
Three Trials: Wukong recognized the demon, Tang Seng didn't believe. Treasured Elephants: Tang Seng becomes tiger, only Wukong recognizes him.
Mirror image. You didn't believe I see truth. Now you need me to see truth and save you.
Bidirectional Undoubting
This teaches: undoubting can't be one-way.
Tang Seng's undoubting is his greatest strength. But it faces only direction—west, the quest. One-way undoubting.
The team needs bidirectional. Not just "I don't doubt my direction" but "I don't doubt my people."
Tang Seng doesn't doubt direction but doubts Wukong. Three Trials was his moment doubting him. Wukong left. He became a tiger.
You can walk 108,000 li undoubting direction. Doubt your people—you can't keep even your own identity.
Direction is personal. Path is communal. Alone you can undoubt direction. Together, you need mutual undoubting. You trust my judgment. I trust your direction. You see what I can't, but I trust you saw it. I believe what you don't understand, but you trust my belief's sound.
This mutual undoubting isn't natural. Walked out. Fought out. Gained after breaking and mending.
Three Trials broke it. Treasured Elephants is that break's cost. Wukong returns, mends it. The undoubting after mending runs deeper. They know what breaking costs.
Wukong Returns
Wukong defeats Yellow-Browed, transforms the Monk back.
Tang Seng's moment returning, what does he feel?
He knows: my undoubting can't save me. My undoubting needs my people. My people need my undoubting. Bidirectional. I can't doubt people while undoubting direction.
Wukong's moment returning, what does he feel?
He knows: the hurt of banishment was real. Being needed was real. Master was wrong. Master paid the cost. He returns now. Not forgiving. Undoubting.
Both understand. Three Trials broke. Treasured Elephants cost. Wukong's return mends.
Mending isn't returning to before. It's continuing with scars.
